The Inhambane Seascape in central Moçambique – is classified by the IUCN as a Globally Exceptional Marine Area, and by UNESCO as a Potential World Heritage Site. It is also a Mission Blue Hope Spot and a unique bioregion scientifically recognized as essential to the health of the southern Western Indian Ocean’S ecosystems and COMMUNITIES.

The Malamba-Mazuene Coastal Collaborative – a program of Associação NATURA Moçambique – is rooted in the heart of this irreplaceable coastal and marine natural heritage.

As Mission Blue Hope Spot Co-Champions, we remain committed to working collaboratively with coastal communities, governmental, and national and international partners truly invested in ensuring the integrity of this critically important marine and coastal bioregion, and the wellbeing of its communities. We place women and youth at the heart of our work, and invest in the next-generations of skilled and empowered environmental leaders.
